BIOGRAPHY

The Chief Instructor and owner of the JBJ DOJO is Murray J. Jewett.  Murray started his Martial Arts training in 1976 with hand to hand combat training and has been studying Kenpo since 1978.  Murray has been teaching since achieving his 1st degree Black Belt in 1982.  He started by teaching children’s classes for his primary instructor, Sifu David Arundel, and his own self-defense classes at Sifu Arundel’s Dojo. Sifu Arundel is a Kenpo student of the late Professor Nick Cerio and a Tae Kwon Do student of Dan Zarbo.  Murray has been studying T’ai Chi Chuan Yang Family style and QiGong since 1983 with Richard Sebastian and is currently studying with Chris Luth, founder of the Pacific School of T’ai Chi & Chi Kung (QiGong).   Chris is also the founder of the T'ai Chi in Paradise retreats.

JBJ DOJO opened its doors at 11 South Meridian Rd. in Kalispell Montana in June 1994 after having shared space at the Second Wind Health club from September 1993. In June 2001 we bought a building and moved our operation to our current location at 2449 Highway 2 West in Kalispell.  The JBJ Dojo is an alternative Martial Arts School. We teach an ethical approach to living through Martial Arts training.  We teach in a non-competitive atmosphere emphasizing respect, tolerance, discipline, positive attitude, and non-violence.  Training at the JBJ DOJO increases physical fitness while reducing stress.
