DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAMS

OKI-RYU KENPO KARATE is a collective system of hard and soft martial arts with a traditional white to black belt ranking system, suitable to a wide variety of students.  Oki-Ryu Kenpo Karate embraces techniques from Chinese Kempo, Japanese Kenpo-Ju-Jitsu, Kung Fu, Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, Shorin-Ryu as well as other styles.

T'AI CHI is an extraordinary exercise.  It is low impact yet improves cardiovascular conditioning.  T’ai Chi reduces stress and blood pressure, and improves circulation, flexibility, balance, and grace.  T’ai Chi is especially recommended for seniors and people with health concerns.  T’ai Chi is also a QiGong exercise.

QIGONG translates as breath energy work and is taught as Therapeutic Energy Exercises.  It is specifically directed at improving health, harmony, and vitality. Therapeutic Energy Exercises are also tailored to individual needs, concerns, illnesses and injuries and are very effective in aiding rehabilitation of sports and work related stress and injuries.

EMPOWERED SCHOLAR PROGRAM is an elementary school course taught to second through eighth grade students as an alternative to physical education.  ESP is an introduction to the universal benefits of martial arts training.

SELF-DEFENSE is a unique program designed to be offered as a college level credit course and has been offered by FVCC.  Self-Defense can also be taught privately as PMAT.

PERSONAL MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING is an opportunity for an individual or small group to receive personalized instruction in a private setting.  Students can train in Kenpo Karate, Self-Defense, T’ai Chi, QiGong, or in combination.  This unique training format allows the student to participate in group classes as well.
